Barkandji Man - Eddy Harris

Using painting, woodcarving and ceramics, Eddy Harris tells his story of his life, his people and his land as a proud Aboriginal man of the Barkandji people.
Harris reflects on his time growing up in Wilcannia, on the banks of the Darling River where his grandparents, parents, aunties and uncles taught him the culture of the Barkandji. Where to find bushfood and medicine, environmental conditions of the land, sacred sites, hunting and gathering techniques, tool-making and most importantly, kinship inspires Harris's work in this solo show Barkandji Man.
