Does Broken Hill need a Creative Arts Hub?
Artists in far west NSW are hungry for more ways to connect with each other, work in company and collaboration, and build a stronger network of locally based artists.
This was the major feedback we received in recent consultations to inform the development of an application for funding for a creative arts hub in Broken Hill.
Through online survey and in person meetings, we asked the community and stakeholders what they would want in a creative arts hub and why, to inform the development of an application for funding.
We sought out input from a wide range of practicing and non-practicing artists, arts groups and associations, creative industries, and community people.
The attached report is a snapshot of the value of arts and creativity personally, professional, economically, and culturally in Broken Hill, and its effect on liveability.
