Aboriginal Arts Officer Position Secured for West Darling Arts

West Darling Arts has successfully received $103,696 as part of the Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) program, funding by the Australian Government. The funding will allow us to employ an Aboriginal Arts Officer and increase our delivery of services to Indigenous artists based in the Far West region of New South Wales.

The funding will allow us to respond to the local needs of Aboriginal artists in our region, provide a pathway for employment for an Aboriginal arts worker, and increase the visibility of Far West NSW Indigenous arts and culture.

Our goal is to strengthen relationships with Aboriginal communities across our vast region, enhance partnerships with Aboriginal services, arts organisation and collectives, and support cultural events.

We’re excited to share updates throughout the year, including a national search for our new Aboriginal Arts Officer.

Surveys Launched

As we work towards increasing our delivery of services to Indigenous artists based in Far NSW, we would like the input and feedback of artists, individuals and businesses with an interest in Indigenous arts in the region. We have launched two surveys where feedback and suggestions can be given.
