Jade Cicak - “The Art of Broken Hill: Traditional to Contemporary” group exhibition at Parliament House
Jade Cicak is a Barkindji artist who grew up on the banks of Baaka at Menindee. She comes from five generations of artists, learning from her mother and grandmothers how to paint, carve emu eggs, as well as wood carving and jewellery design. She is now a mother of two young children and hopes to inspire them to make art as a tool for cultural and personal expression. Her work has been exhibited nationally, most recently at the Broken Hill City Art Gallery.
